3 People Dead in Two Separate Crashes on Highway 63 in Northern Boone County

On January 23, 2025, tragedy struck in northern Boone County, Missouri, as two fatal accidents on Highway 63 claimed the lives of three individuals. The first crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 124. In this head-on collision, one driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other later died from injuries at a local hospital. Authorities believe one vehicle crossed the median, causing the collision with another vehicle traveling southbound.

Approximately 90 minutes later, at 6:00 p.m., a second fatal accident occurred nearby on Highway 63 near Breedlove Drive. A Jeep rear-ended a car that was sitting in traffic due to the earlier crash. Tragically, one person in the rear-ended vehicle was killed, and the remaining three occupants, along with the Jeep driver, were seriously injured and rushed to University Hospital.

Emergency responders from the Boone County Fire Protection District and the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrived at the scene. The highway was temporarily closed while authorities investigated the circumstances of both accidents. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and the families of the deceased have been notified.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate both incidents, while officials extend their condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. The accidents have raised concerns about highway safety and the importance of caution, especially in heavy traffic conditions.
