Tesla’s Sales Drop, But Elon Musk Has a Bold Promise: Cars Without Drivers on the Roads Soon

Tesla’s recent sales results have disappointed Wall Street, as the company reported a 71% drop in profits for Q4 2024, with revenue falling short of expectations. Despite delivering 1.79 million electric vehicles in 2024, a slight decline from the previous year, CEO Elon Musk remains confident about Tesla’s future.

In an ambitious move, Musk promised that new models of Tesla vehicles—capable of driving themselves—would soon hit the streets. He revealed plans to launch an autonomous ride-hailing service in Austin, Texas, in June 2025, before introducing “cybercabs” in 2026.

While the company’s financial struggles have led to a 4% drop in Tesla’s stock price after hours, Musk’s vision for the future of self-driving cars seems unwavering. With new, affordable models set to be unveiled in 2025, he insists Tesla will maintain its position at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. But will Tesla’s ambitious plans be enough to convince investors? Only time will tell.
