Busta Rhymes Arrested on Assault Charges in New York

Rapper Busta Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith Jr., was arrested in Brooklyn, New York, following an alleged assault on his personal assistant. The incident reportedly stemmed from a disagreement during work hours and resulted in the assistant suffering minor injuries.

The 52-year-old artist turned himself in to authorities and has been charged with third-degree assault. After his arrest, he was issued a desk appearance ticket and is expected to appear in court on February 3, 2025.

This is not the first time Rhymes has faced legal troubles. He has previously been involved in incidents, including assault and harassment charges, as well as a 2015 case where he attended anger management classes after pleading guilty to harassment.

Despite the legal challenges, Rhymes has remained active in the music and entertainment industry. He recently released his 11th studio album, Blockbusta, and is slated to appear in an upcoming film project.

Further developments regarding the case are expected as it proceeds through the legal system.
